Lithuania : Vice-Minister A. Zananavicius will attend the General Affairs Council meeting in Brussels.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Albinas Zananavicius will attend a meeting of the General Affairs Council of the European Union (EU) on 21 May in Brussels.

The Council will continue the debate on the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027, focusing on the EU external action budget. The Council will also prepare for the European Council of 20-21 June, which will adopt the EU Strategic Agenda for 2019-2024, discuss appointments of EU Heads of State, discuss the EU's multiannual budget, fight climate change and assess the EU's fight against misinformation.

Romania will present information on the European Semester Conference in Bucharest on 4 April, and will also inform delegations about the May 3 ministerial meeting on Europe's cultural heritage in response to the fire at the Paris Cathedral. For its part, the European Commission will present a communication on strengthening the rule of law in the EU.
