Circulating bath systems for open and closed applications for above-ambient temperatures to a maximum of 250[degrees]C. Five bath capacities from 8 to 48 liters and five temperature-controlled circulators make up the 25 available systems. Each can be used as an open bath to provide maximum working area or as a closed circulating system for external apparatus.

Inlet and outlet pipes at the rear ot the circulator can be used for external circulation or terminated for circulation only within the bath itself. Although designed primarily for heating applications, the baths are calibrated at temperatures below ambient and can be used at sub-ambient temperatures.

EarthSmart ECA series air-cooled chillers and ECW series water-cooled chillers are portable, packaged, units built for stable temperature control in machine-side applications. Designed to use environmentally friendly R-410A refrigerant, there are air- and water-cooled models available in multiple 3-phase voltages in sizes from 1.5 to 30 tons. Also available with R-134A refrigerant and single-phase power are 1/2- and 3/4-ton air-cooled models. Standard features include fin-and-tube condensers with vertical air discharge on air-cooled units; brazed-plate condensers on larger water-cooled chillers and tube-in-tube on smaller water-cooled units; brazed-plate evaporators; and scroll compressors on all 3-phase models. A basic microprocessor-based control with LED display of setpoint and actual temperatures plus component status and diagnostics is standard. Options include communications with molding machines or supervisory control packages like the Conair ControlWorks platform. Central water systems include outdoor air-cooled chillers in 20- to 527-ton capacities and single-, dual-, and multiple-compressor designs, as well as indoor water-cooled chillers from 50 to 481 tons. Pump-tank assemblies with optional high-end PLC/touch panel controls include 180- to 1,100-gal (681 L to 4,164 L) roto-molded PE tanks or epoxy-lined mild steel or stainless-steel reservoirs from 1,525 to 5,010 gal (5,773 L to 18,965 L) and larger custom designs as required. Pumps from 2 to 100 hp (1.5 to 75 kW) and larger if required.

Induced-draft, counter-flow cooling towers are available in four different size ranges, with capacities from 10 to 810 tons and larger. Bodies are molded from polyethylene and are warranted for 15 years against rust, chips or cracks. Fans and other internal components are corrosion-resistant, so they provide years of low-maintenance service. Options include variable frequency fan drives to closely control temperature and save energy.

For standard press-side temperature control, the economical Thermolator water-temperature controllers feature two-piece castings that eliminate up to 40 leak-prone fittings. Units available in single- or dual-zone configurations for direct injection, closed- or isolated-circuit process heating and control of cooling. Pumps to 7.5 hp (56 kW), heaters to 48 kW, and process temperatures to 250[degrees]F (119[degrees]C). Microprocessor controls include low-cost TW controls, which combine the functionality of temperature-indicating controls (TIC) with many user-friendly features of programmable logic controllers (PLC) normally only available on more expensive units. All units covered by three-year warranty. A corrosion-resistant package option is available to minimize or eliminate rust from process water.

To reduce cycle times and improve part quality and surface finish in appearance-critical molded parts, the TW-ALT alternating-temperature controller cycles hot and cold water through mold heating and cooling channels. Four different models are available, ranging from maximum flow rates of 16 gal/ min (60 1/min) to 230 gal/min (870 I/min). Water as hot as 39[degrees]F (200[degrees]C) can be supplied, with cooling water supplied at 59[degrees]F (15[degrees]C). Alternating temperatures can cycle through a swing of 180[degrees]F (100[degrees]C).

Providing a safer and more environmentally friendly alternative to circulating-oil TCUs, new TW-HT Series mold-temperature-control units, which can deliver circulating water at up to 392[degrees]F (200[degrees]C). Compared to oil heat-transfer media, superheated water offers higher specific-heat capacity, better thermal conductivity and a heat-transfer coefficient that is more than double. For medical applications involving PEEK, polyetherimide (Ultem) and other ultra-high-temperature materials, which may require mold temperatures as high as 437[degrees]F (225[degrees]C), a special TW-HTM model is available. Five different TW-HT models are available, with maximum flow rates between 16 gal/min (601/min) and 245 gal/min (9301/min). The ultra-high-temperature TW-HTW unit is available in a 7-gal/min (25 Umin) configuration.

HeaTrac oil temperature-control units with pumps from 1 to 3 hp for mold temperatures to 500[degrees]F (260[degrees]C). VacuTrac positive/negative pressure units with pumps from 2 to 7.5 hp.


Water-circulating temperature-control systems feature horizontal pumps that extend seal life and copper sheath heater element that maximizes heat transfer. Units come in single- or multiple-zone configurations operating to 300[degrees]F and conforming to NEMA-1 specifications. Custom designs available.

KB upright series comes with standard 9-kw heating element; fully programmable, micro-processor-based PID digital controller; and pumping capacities from 0.75 to 5 hp. SB series with 4.5- and 9-kw heaters and V2-hp motors are suitable for smaller molding machines.

During the hottest hours of the summer, Adiabatic Cooling increases the relative humidity of the ambient air. This is achieved by nozzles spraying a fine mist of tap water into the air, on both sides of the fluid cooler. This effect decreases the air temperature before entering the heat exchanger. Hence, the leaving water temperature to your process is below the ambient temperature.

The Adiabatic-SSS Option (Super Spray System) increases the Adiabatic efficiency by using nebulizers.

Negative-pressure leak stoppers and negative/positive-pressure mold-temperature controllers for up to 400[degrees]E Vac-U-Temp is a general-purpose temperature controller with negative- and positive-pressure modes usable simultaneously. MC series temperature controllers provide precise temperature control through PID microprocessor control. Made of stainless steel and nonferrous components for durability. Using a floatless switch system, MC seals itself off from pressure and temperature fluctuations in the water supply system. Heater element is sheathed and plated to resist scaling and other harmful deposits.

Compact MC units require little floor space and are highly energy efficient. Available with 0.4-, 0.8- and 1.3-hp pumps and 3- to 8-kw heaters in water or oil.

Complete range of operating temperatures from 200[degrees]F to 360[degrees]F Single-circuit Tempro Basic units operate up to 200[degrees]F, 285[degrees]F or 300[degrees]F, depending on model.

All units have 100% non-ferrous contact surfaces and include a power cord, Y strainer, and main power switch. Mold purge and negative pressure (leakstop) are also standard on most units.
