VIENNA, Va. -- Liquid Computing, Inc. Launches Federal Business, Delivers Fabric Computing to Government Agencies Ahead of Traditional OEM Suppliers.

Liquid Computing, Inc., the developer of LiquidIQ[R], the industry-leading fabric computing system, today announced the formal launch of Liquid Computing Federal Inc., a company devoted to meeting the scalable computing needs of the federal civilian, Intelligence and defense government markets. Tom Kreidler, former head of Sun Microsystems Federal and Juniper Networks Public Sector, will lead Liquid Computing Federal's explosive growth into the government marketplace.

Liquid Computing provides scalable computing solutions to support the missions of federal agencies with demanding data processing and storage requirements. With LiquidIQ, the industry-leading fabric computing system, Liquid Computing integrates and delivers a set of managed high performance computing and communications resources that are fully virtualized, dynamically configurable and highly available.

Liquid Computing supports the missions of federal agencies with demanding data processing and storage requirements by providing truly scalable computing at a fraction of the cost of traditional data centers. Customer evaluations, market analysts and industry benchmarks have validated LiquidIQ's comparative features and capabilities, including:

* No degradation in communications latency and bandwidth over scale and across chassis,

* 80 percent reduction on total cost of ownership,

* "Green IT" benefits such as 84 percent reduction in floor space requirements, 80 percent power savings, and

* 90 percent reduction in cabling compared to traditional data centers.

"Fabric computing provides a flexible architecture that accommodates both modern monolithic server designs as well as next generation componentized server designs. Fabric computing provides similar flexibility to virtualization and in fact can be quite complementary to server virtualization solutions," said John Enck, vice president of research, Gartner, Inc.

Most data centers today use no more than 15 percent of capacity waiting for a major event that requires massive computing power. LiquidIQ leads the way in server virtualization by enabling all hardware resources to be virtualized and available to be "shared anywhere" as workload demands change. LiquidIQ is complementary with software virtualization technologies from VMware and XEN, as well as virtualized storage solutions from providers such as EMC.
