Linux Site Andover.Net Gets $10m in Mezzanine Funding.

Linux publishing powerhouse Andover.Net has raised $10m in mezzanine financing from TA Associates of Boston, Massachusetts. TA Associates principal, Jonathan Goldstein, has joined Andover.Net's board of directors. Earlier this year, Andover.Net acquired the open source developer community resource sites Slashdot and Freshmeat. Both sites received extensive hardware overhauls that were completed this week. "It's pretty wild having this much metal running Slashdot," admitted founder Rob "CmdrTaco" Malda. "People have stopped emailing me to complain that the server is slow. The new hardware means a bigger, better and faster Slashdot. And it goes well with chicken."
