Lime Street leaves me cold.
ALTHOUGH most people seem to be happy with the new plans for Lime Street, I can't say I'm very impressed. To me, it looks like a row of very bland brown buildings, devoid of features or anything impressive that draws the eye to them or makes them stand out. I realise that student accommodation takes priority over everything else in this city now, but I don't see why every new block that goes up (and let's face it, there's a new one every couple of weeks) has to be so boring.
It seems to me very short sighted to bulldoze the great architecture of our more inspired forebears, who were interested in things other than money, in the rush to put up more and more drab boxes.
Generations to come will not thank us for this folly.
