Lightning close shave.

A TRACTOR driver walked away with a "ringing in his ears" after his machine was hit by lightning in a pea field.

Father-of-two Simon Jennings, 46, of Foulsham, Norfolk, was working near his home when an electric storm broke.

The electrical system of the pounds 100,000 Fendt 936 tractor was destroyed as sparks flew and the cab filled with smoke. But Mr Jennings was unmarked.

"It happened last Monday. I think the tractor was pretty much a write-off," said Mr Jennings' wife Linda. "But he said he was all right except for this ringing in his ears."
