Lighting up the day.

Osram Sylvania is casting daylight on the lighting category. The Danvers, Mass.-based company has introduced Daylight Plus and Daylight Extra to its line of Daylight incandescent products designed for a variety of indoor lighting applications.

Daylight Plus products are exclusive Sylvania halogen PAR lamps made with special neodymium lenses that make the light whiter than standard halogen lamps. The white light of Daylight Plus is designed to make objects stand out more clearly and crisply than they would with a standard halogen bulb. New products include 30-, 50-, 60- and 75-watt floodlights. Also included are general purpose A-line halogen lamps. The Daylight Extra products include a 13-watt compact fluorescent lamp with an average rated life of more than 8,000 hours that can replace a 60-watt incandescent.

Sylvania is also expanding its Soft White Dulux EL family with the addition of a series of Energy Star-rated products. The products include a three-way Twist that provides a soft white light for lamps. A 30-watt Twist is designed for reading and environments with high ceilings.
