Lifeboat call-out.

THE Beaumaris lifeboat was called on Sunday to assist a 30ft motor cruiser with no rudder steerage.

Initially due to a low lying sea mist, the lifeboat encountered poor visibility but the situation did improve as it neared. Once on scene it was decided that the best course of action would be to tow the boat to Fort Belan near Caernarfon where she was moored alongside the dock so that the boat owner could arrange for repairs to be undertaken on the faulty steering mechanism.

Once this was completed the RNLI lifeboat and crew then returned to the boathouse by 1.44pm where she was refuelled.
