LifeNet, LifeLink form new alliance for processing, distribution of allograft tissue for transplantation.
According to the two OPOs, LifeLink's tissue operations will mirror the processing operations and standards of LifeNet and the two will have join marketing and distribution efforts of allograft tissue. LifeLink will also being to process LifeNet's tissue engineered allografts called Vertigraft, a full line of allograft implants for spine surgery.
LifeLink and LifeNet say they will also work cooperatively in the processing and development of bone carrier products needed in orthopedic, neurosurgical, trauma and reconstructive surgery.
With the alliance, the two OPOs say they will become the largest nonprofit full-service OPO-based tissue banking system in the US which provides both musculoskeletal and cardiovascular tissue services.
