The international coalition has been launching airstrikes on Libya in an attempt to bolster the rebels' campaign against Gaddafi. "It is not exactly clear where America is heading now and how will it establish the foundations of its foreign policy. Will it be on the basis of the principles and values as was the case during the days of Dwight Eisenhower, or on the basis of interests and benefits as has been happening since the sixties of the last century?" Khoury asked. "But it is completely certain that since the eruption of the tsunami of 'change' which is sweeping the Middle East region, it has been proved once more that hesitation and vagueness dominate the American follow-up of this huge development which this region has not known for half a century," Khoury said.
