Lib Dem cash plans are unravelling.

Following their irresponsible pre-election promises on spending we now see the Lib Dems' economic policy in the city beginning to unravel. Having made themselves a hostage to fortune with Tory-style promises on taxation and spending cuts, we are now being given the first inkling of what this could mean for services by Lib Dem finance

spokesman Coun Peter Allen (Chronicle, December 6). The current Lib Dem administration has already delivered increased costs in Home Care to some of the most vulnerable in our community. Nationally the Tories are again showing themselves to be the enemy of good-quality public services in their desperate attempts to buy votes. It is a source of concern that Newcastle Lib Dems seem bent on following that example.
