Liam does a runner.
EASTENDERS Mon, tue, thur, Fri BBC1 If anyone deserves a badge of courage as well as Mother Of The Year award then it must be Bianca Butcher.
For how many mums would venture into the dark and dangerous alleyways of the Byron sink estate to confront her 14-year-old son Liam and try to wrench him away from a local gang of thugs, as she did last week? With another powerful performance by Patsy Palmer as desperate Bianca, she wants to protect her son. Or, as she puts it, "I'm just trying to stop him getting a bullet to his brain."
But as the stroppy teen returns to the house and refuses to go to school, with the feral gang gathering outside, she puts Ray on "guard duty". When that fails, she locks Liam in his bedroom. "Treating him like a little boy," huffs former gang member Dexter. "They'll treat him like a man. Who do you think he's gunna choose?" On Thursday, Bianca finds out when Liam tricks Whitney into letting him out and he immediately does a runner. No prizes for guessing where he's heading.
