Lewis ban is lifted as FA over-rule his suspension.

STOCKINGFORD AA's influential winger Mark Lewis has been given a reprieve from his 11-week suspension and is in line to face Nuneaton Griff in the quarter final of their ill-fated Coventry Charity Cup quarter final this weekend.

Lewis, who was sent off in the initial tie which was abandoned by referee Peter Bell, appealed against his ban and last night the Football Association kicked out the original Birmingham County FA ruling and now the wheels are in motion to set a new date for the hearing.

Cabbage manager Jimmy Ginnelly said: ''The Birmingham County have received a rap on the knuckles.

"They agreed with us that Mark did not get a fair hearing which is a great result for Mark and the club.

"I just hope that when the new hearing takes place all the evidence will be heard, particularly from Mark's witnesses.''

He added: ''Mark is one of the best players in the town and to have him available for Saturday and possibly until the end of the season is a massive bonus, especially as we are looking to win the Charity Cup for a third year running and are also well placed to lift the Coventry Alliance Premier Division title.''
