Levien hired for Essex St. renovation.
Levien & Company has been hired as owner's representative for a three-building restoration project on Essex and Ludlow Streets, on the Lower East Side, announces Kenneth Levien, AIA, president of Levien & Company.Once the combination of new construction and renovation is completed, the sites for the three buildings -- two of which are attached and located on Essex Street, the other on Ludlow Street -- will become known as 149-151 Essex Street.
The buildings, each approximately 25' by 90', previously contained both commercial and residential tenants.
When the project is completed in June 2002, the two buildings will provide approximately 22 market-priced residential units.
The project's architect is Meltzer/Mandl. Abraham Joselow Associates PC, Pillori Associates, and the Office of James Ruderman serve as the renovation's engineers.
Levien & Co. was hired by the developer, 149-151 Essex Street Associates LLC, whose principals include Barbara Robregger and Harris Barer, when the properties became vacant in February 2001.
