Letter from the EDITOR.
This week we've featured two properties right here in Northern Ireland that lie behind electric gates. Pretty fancy, don't you think? Are they not the sort of thing you'd expect for A-list mansions and royalty? Well apparently not - it's something we, the ordinary folk of NI, are thinking about more and more.
And I guess with some of the stunning homes out there, it's not that surprising. But what's it all about? Is it for security? Are people here really that worried about themselves and their belongings? Or is it - as I suspect in many cases - actually about gaining that extra element of prestige and mystery? Electric gates certainly looks the part, and if you're hoping to make your home appear extra fancy pants then they're definitely the way to go.
I couldn't quite pull it off with my house in the middle of a chockablock estate, but if you live out in the vast countryside round here, and if you've got a few extra quid hanging about, it would certainly get the neighbours talking.
