Letter: Yousay - Parking misery.

Byline: John Dunne

CLLR Peter Millea believes capping car parking spaces and charging the disabled won't affect business in the city centre.

I have news for him - go to War-rington retail park or Trafford Centre any weekend and listen to the Scouse accents.

This council have achieved a lot during their term in office, but the one area they have failed miserably is the parking problems of the city centre.

Ask anyone who uses the centre on a regular basis and the gripes are repeated over and over again: zealous traffic wardens, lack of parking space, congestion' is there any wonder trade in neighbouring towns and cities is booming? Why? Because parking is either cheap or free.

Cllr Millea needs to do something positive for shoppers and businesses alike, otherwise the car parks will be empty and traffic wardens will be twiddling their thumbs as people shop in more friendly environments. John Dunne, L16
