Letter: Yousay: Jobs failure.

Byline: Pat van der Veer

FIRST we had the Rover fiasco, then Airbus workers facing job losses. Now, Peugeot and Sayers workers face the same scenario.

From my life experience, catastrophic problems do not emerge without warning.

Now, I am no captain of industry, neither am I an economist, but I do know enough to state that in order to survive in today's world, one needs to keep an eye on the horizon for emerging trends and prepare accordingly.

In order for such failures to happen there is either a serious lack of people with vision and leadership in positions of power or possibly a prevailing attitude of "Blow you Jack, I'm all right," among our so-called leaders.

Either way, we lose!
