Letter: YourSay - An unfair attack.
Byline: D DaviesA DOWNES asks why some car parks are free for disabled drivers when expensive cars can often be seen in disabled parking bays, saying the drivers cannot be poor.
He assumes that the car belongs to the disabled person whereas the car with a disabled card in the window does not necessarily belong to the disabled person as the card goes with the person not the car.
So it can be displayed on any car in which the disabled person is being transported, whether it belongs to one of the family or a friend.
Also everybody with a disabled card has not automatically received a disability allowance.
Several pages have to be filled in and be approved by the doctor before a disability allowance is given.
