Letter: Your Shout - Beaten at own game.

Byline: J BAXTER

I LOVED the irony of Martin O'Neill's lump-it-long and set-piece merchants being beaten at their own game by Stoke.

Considering the amount of money O'Neill has at his disposal and the very average players he keeps buying at inflated prices, he's lucky that Randy Lerner stays in the US and doesn't know about football, or has anyone watching over him who does.

I can understand why Gareth Barry wants to leave for Liverpool as they are a club with genuine European ambitions and they play the game the right way.
