Letter: Your Say - Swiss Toni is alive and well; In association with POST OFFICE.

Byline: R Francis

I WAS not surprised to read that sexist car salesmen lose nearly pounds 1 billion a year from women who walk out of their premises because they have been patronised.

As a woman car driver I find I am treated like an idiot not just by car salesmen, but by repair garages.

I will spare the company its blushes but in one of them I actually had some pimpled teenager tell me I couldn't understand what he was saying because I was a woman!

At the time he was trying to rip me off by telling me I needed work done on three tyres which had passed their MoT the day before!

Garages need to realise that we women are now a very large part of their market and we expect to be treated on the same level as men.

Only when we feel respected will we put our hands in our pockets and boost their sales commission.

That appalling Swiss Toni character from the Fast Show is alive and well.

R Francis, Perry Barr
