Letter: Your Say - Kids' housekeeping.
I WAS very interested in the article by Emma McKinney, 'Kids Cashing in on Parents', (Birmingham Mail, February 24).
I have been wondering for some time if there are any guidelines on how much is an acceptable amount for adult children, still living in the family home, to be expected to pay for housekeeping each week.
Mine currently pay pounds 30 a week and think they are hard done by but, like many of the younger generation, think nothing of paying pounds 100+ for items such as trainers, phones, ipods, etc.
I would be interested to hear what other parents expect their adult children to pay.
