Letter: Your Say - Iron out the bumps; In association with POST OFFICE.

Byline: Trevor Thompson

THERE is an immediate remedy available for a large per centage of our carbon footprint - get rid of speed humps from our roads.

Not only do they use an inordinate amount of fuel by causing vehicles to brake and accelerate every 100 metres or so, they also cause excessive wear on suspensions and brakes.

The reason for these obstructions, namely 'elf and safety', has been disproved by all major motoring groups.

So, in order to do our bit to save the planet, the Government and councils should abolish these 'sleeping policemen.'
