Letter: Your Say - Brown rule is good for Tories.

Byline: F Mills-Clifton

WHAT a good thing for the Conservative Party that Brown is staying on. Are we not going to see the chickens come home to roost after years of this government's mismanagement?

Champions of super-casinos, champions of binge drinking with extended hours. Even more serious in allowing more than one trillion of debt, and one million people in mortgages they cannot afford.

The Healy-Callaghan government flaunted the British economy in just the same way and then said: "We shall have to squeeze until the pips squeak." No doubt the Brown government will be more subtle and carry on the practice of tax by stealth.

The list of mismanagement is endless and I for one never went through the Coventry Blitz to see Blair make my country an aggressor when he took us into Iraq like Hitler did to Poland.

Let us watch those chickens coming home to roost in the next two years and take note of the sleaze and spin we are all in for.

It is my view that Cameron and company are well out of picking up the pieces. Their day is still on the horizon.
