Letter: You say - Give police powers.

Byline: Elizabeth

WE have all asked the question 'what is this world coming to?' The so-called anti-social behaviour of gangs of yobs is becoming frightening and while this behaviour goes unpunished it will get even worse.

The ASBO supporters are living in cloud cuckoo land if they think this is a punishment. The police must be exhausted trying to control the situation but they are powerless to really deal with the trouble night after night with drunks and druggies causing mayhem.

Any of these yobs taken for hospital treatment should be made to pay. The NHS is stretched to capacity and really ill people are having to fight to receive cancer drugs etc.

These druggies are laughing at all respectable people and it is time something positive was done. I don't profess to know the answer but old-fashioned discipline is a must.
