IT is heartening to see that, unlike many of their peers, the young folk of Knowsley aren't content to laze around in bed all day.

Many of them, in fact, can be found most mornings, hurling a variety of missiles at the 7.55am Rainford to Kirkby train.

A victory, I think, for the joys of healthy pursuits and engaging in a basic fitness regime from an early age.

A few smashed windows, and commuters having to duck regularly, is a small price to pay.
