Letter: YOUR SHOUT - It's back to the troubled 70s.

Byline: DB

MAYBE AT of Whickham will deny that in the 70s under Labour we couldn't bury our dead and dispose of our rubbish.

Perhaps he will also deny the raging inflation and constant strikes. Will be also deny Britain was labelled the sick man of Europe?

We needed some nasty medicine to cure our ills. Along came Maggie, who restored us to good health and gave the country its pride back.

Now the present bunch of incompetents has set us back 30 years. The present mess requires a miracle.

DB, Chester-le-Street.
