Letter: Write idea.

Byline: S. Evans

WHAT a lot of stuff and nonsense has been written about Harry Potter and whether his books could lure children into the occult or black magic.

On the contrary, we should be eternally grateful to his creator J.K. Rowling for renewing an interest in reading among children.

Harry's popularity proves that the written word, when coupled with a vivid imagination, can always outshine visual images.

Even the Harry Potter films have been reasonably faithful to the original text.

S. Evans, Birkenhead.
