Letter: Varied life.
RE:MEMORIES in Letters column (April 23) regarding Robert Sangster.
With all due respect to the writer of the letter,Robert mar-ried Christine in Penrith (I think) in May,1960. Some 10 years later than stated. I had the privilege of knowing Robert and his parents in the mid- 40s. They were all very kind and generous not only to me, but also to my late mother. Even in those days,Robert had a sense of mischievousness and impishness, which he retained throughout his wonderful and varied life, which brought so much enjoyment and pleasure to many, many people.
I understand there are no plans to hold a memorial service for him on the Wirral. I think that this is a great pity,as I am sure there are many local people who would like to pay their last respects to someone who has enriched so many lives in so many ways, and were fortunate to cross his path.
