Letter: To the Point.

Byline: Jackie McDonald

I VERY much hope that South African farm worker Ger truida Baar tman gave food for thought to the bosses of Tesco when she spoke at the supermarket's AGM (Daily Mirror, July 8). They deserve to be humbled by this remarkable woman. It is tot ally obscene to think that one man can earn pounds 1.1million with bonuses amounting to pounds 2.8million and a fruit picker earns pounds 3.41 for a nine-hour day, risking their health by breathing in pesticides. When will the government and the public wake up to this insanity and make the world a better place for everyone?
