Letter: Time for change.

THE letter from Mr. Jackson has the sinister undertones of New Labour's ``don't rock the boat'' syndrome.

I would have thought that a leadership challenge to Mr. Ben-Tovim would be a healthy sign of the Labour Party addressing a core issue - namely, how have they relinquished control of a former municipal stronghold? And has the time come for fresh ideas from the top to save the Labour Party from a long-term stay in opposition?

I for one feel that Joe Anderson has the credentials to articulate the needs of the core Labour support in this city much better than the intellectual navel gazing currently led by Mr. Ben-Tovim.
