Letter: Teacher trials.

Byline: Mrs E. Pursglove

THANKS to Trevor McDonald for his programme reminding us all of the sufferings of teachers from unruly pupils.

It should not be necessary for a teacher to give a boy a kick up the backside. There has to be a definite form of punishment which hurts.

There are many homes where children do not need even a smack, but unfortunately there are more where children do not get the loving discipline they need. All the more need for rules and regulations in schools.

We are putting power into young hands that are not able to deal with it.
