Letter: Strike threat shame.

Byline: P Barron

RAIL guards should be ashamed of themselves for threatening to go on strike over Grand National weekend.

Merseyrail has worked wonders, from turning itself round from 'Miseryrail' into an efficient, punctual service that is the envy of the rest of the country.

From reports, it seems that the company has bent over backwards to try and accommodate the guards' demands, yet they still selfishly refuse to budge. They are certainly not friends of the city, nor of the thousands of Merseysiders who will be inconvenienced in travelling to Aintree for one of the biggest annual events in the sporting calendar
