Letter: Roo the day.

Byline: Ian Ross

EVERTON Football Club has been made aware of the operating of licensed premises in the Walton district of Liverpool which bears the name ``Rooney's Bar''-an apparent tribute to Wayne Roone y (Daily Post, March 6). After having spoken to the player, his parents and his management company,Proactive,Evertonwishes to make it clear that it has, in no way, sanctioned this business not does it support it.

Bearing in mind that Wayne Rooney is just 17 years old -and as such is still unable to consume alcohol on licensed premises - the club is uncomfortable with a commercial venture of this nature bearing his name.
