Letter: Popular party.
Byline: B MARTINI AM a regular reader of the Sunday Mercury but I am disgusted with the front page article on the BNP. I have been a member for quite a while and if there were the slightest chance of the truth in that article, I would resign immediately.
This article is a scandalous attempt to discredit a party that has more potential members than you think. If they are indeed guilty of what you say, don't you think I would have sussed them out by now?
I am not a racist. I have lots of black friends who are as British as me and see no harm in trying to put our views across. We are proud to be English. What's wrong with celebrating our own history and culture?
B MARTIN, Ladywood
