Letter: Phoney greenness.

Sir - It has became clear to me that the political green bandwagon started by David Cameron has hit the wall of reality.

If you listened carefully you could hear the bandwagon crashing in the applause after Linda Ware said South Wales is up in arms about green energy issues.

It is now time for politicians to realise that people can see through their phoney greenness.

It's time everyone realised that not only radical change of modern society is needed but also a radical change of the ideas and paradigms that are the ruling hegemonic ideology of today's world.

Capitalism is based on permanent expansion.

More and more.

As Gandhi said: "The earth provides enough for everybody's needs but not enough for everybody's greed."

It's time to learn to live with less, to step lightly on the Earth.

The drive of market forces should not be leading the building of renewable energy sources because it's the drive of market forces that has given the world the environmental crisis we now face.

In Wales we are seeing market forces at work with the glut of massive wind farms and biomass power stations.

These are being built without democracy of whether they are really needed.

What is needed now more then ever is strong and far-sighted political leadership, not bandwagon jumping.
