Letter: Now it's time to repent.

Byline: JAMES GIVEN

Dear Editor, -I am now 72, and in the last few years I have witnessed a tremendous proliferation in various Bills being passed by successive governments. Many of these are purported to deal with law and order in society, or the lack of it, and also moral issues.

What is the result? We are today living in a society that is more corrupt, more destructive, more selfish, more unlawful than any of our previous generations witnessed.

The truth is that the vast majority of these Bills are dealing with effects and not the root causes. In simple truth, all their endeavours for amelioration are a sprinkling of rose water on a cancer.

The cancer is, that as individuals and as a nation we have departed from Almighty God and His ways as revealed in His Bible.

Nation, wake up to the root cause of our problems and repent.
