Letter: More views on short trousers.
CHILDREN should not be forced to wear shorts because there are lots of things that you get later in life such as arthritis.
Miss Worthington, Kensington
I USED to go to St Ambrose School myself and have now got a three-year-old daughter who goes to the nursery. I think they should be able to wear trousers because it's so cold. And all the other kids in the area can wear trousers. Emma Edge, L24
THIS is why half the children are catching cold because they are wearing shorts for school and then wearing long trousers at the weekend. My child is a pupil at St Ambrose.
Tracy Bio, Speke MY two children go to the school and I don't think people realise that St Ambrose School is very open to the elements. It's surrounded by fields and the River Mersey. Some mornings before the children are queuing up to go into the school, it can be -5 to -6 with the windchill factor.
The children's legs are blue and muffled before they go into the school. Children go in with cold legs into the warm, then back out into the cold, then back into the warm. Mr Keogh, Speke I THINK it's ridiculous that boys have to wear short trousers in such winter weather. The same applies at the school my children go to which is St Paul's in West Derby. Helen McKeown, L12wear shorts. To me cold weather means long pants. Mrs Rimmer, Kirkby SOME boys are really tall for their age and look absolutely ridiculous in these shorts.
Elizabeth Harris, Toxteth I'VE sent my son into school with long trousers and they've sent home a number of letters. All children should wear long trousers in this weather and shorts for the summer.
There is a lot of anger going on in our school - which is St Bennet's in Netherton. Joanne Church, Sefton
CHILDREN shouldn't be forced to WOULD the teachers like to wear shorts for school in the winter? Helen Nolan, Kirkby
