Letter: Mailbag - Please empty our bins!

FRIDAY'S Examiner featured a Paddock resident who had not had his grey bin emptied for a week. The residents of Quarry Court, Longwood have not had their bins emptied for more than two weeks.

The bins remain full and on the roadside. My bin contains food waste which is 18 days old. I consider it a health hazard after seven days.

Many residents of the road have contacted Kirklees Environment Services to alert them to the problem. But when I phoned they denied any knowledge of it.

There is no value in Environment Services boasting of its prowess if it is blithely disingenuous or completely incompetent.

Before worrying about multiple recycling they must learn the basic skills of driving a lorry to a street, picking up the waste and driving off to the tip with it.

What is most worrying is the fact that one cannot derogate fromthis element of the council tax charge. Citizensmust pay for a sub-standard service whether they like it or not and also accept the increasingly draconian conditions imposed by the alternative agenda of Environment Services.
