Letter: Mailbag - Hunt for cheap headlines.

CLR Kath Pinnock yet again finds fault with the Conservative-run Council; now it is about care for the elderly (Examiner August 11). I am sure the situation was exactly the same when she was leader of the council.

Last month she was talking about bin collections after the two-day strike by the refuse collectors. Her idea would have been to pay the refuse collectors double time on a Sunday to catch up with the bin emptying; in other words reward them for striking.

Unless Clr Pinnock has anything of worth to say I would suggest she keeps her nose to the grindstone instead of looking for a cheap headline.
