Letter: Mailbag - Children at risk of going astray.
SO, from September, youth workers in Kirklees will be looking for those children who are displaying "danger signs" such as truancy, challenging behaviour in school, or in trouble with the police (Examiner July 31).
These children will join an early intervention scheme. Could we be informed just how many children in Kirklees are already eligible for the Challenge and Support Project? Ten? Twenty?
Four hundred? How do young people get selected for this scheme, given that so many areas seem to have problems with their behaviour?
