Letter: MAILBAG - Taxing anything that moves.
IS anyone else as sceptical about the whole "Green" issue dominating everything at the present time?
I just have the feeling that the Government has given up trying to solve problems regarding the Health Service, law and order and immigration and "Green" is tailor-made for failing politicians.
It is a problem that cannot be solved by one country alone or in the near future, but it gives unlimited opportunities for taxing anything that moves or stands still, all in the name of global warming. It has been shown from existing records that over the centuries there have been periods of mild winters but nature regulates itself. Apart from that, how does taxing the United Kingdom to the hilt stop countries - such as China - churning out the emissions that it does?
I think we are being taken for a cynical and painful ride by our elected ones.
