Letter: MAILBAG - Go out and celebrate.
I HAVE to agree with Mike Warren-Madden (Letter, Celebrate St George, March 10) that the majority of the English are lacking in enthusiasm to celebrate their traditional national day, or are afraid of being branded racist.
This word iswidely used, especially by wrongdoers, criminals and even terrorists, because this the easiest way for compensation to be awarded to them.
On the other hand, last year at St George's Day celebrations, a group of dancers - the third generation from the Polish veterans who fought for this country and are fully integrated as were their parents - were named as foreign and a complaint was made in a letter to the Examiner, to which I replied.
I can only advise the grumbling silent majority to stand up and be counted, give two fingers to the PC clique, press hard on elected members so that the law of the land is respected and celebrate your national days with pride.
The freedom of this country which we all enjoy grew on the Christian tradition.
So don't throw mud at it unnecessarily.
