Letter: Government to blame if lives are lost.

WHATEVER live are lost in the strike is the fault of the Government not the firemen. The MPs award themselves a 41 per cent rise, have three months holiday, most firemen have to work on their rest days to make ends meet.

The Government should be ashamed to condemn the firemen for wanting a liveable wage.

I would like to see John Prescott do a 48-hour shift with the firemen, that would put him off his high, arrogant stand.
