Letter: Curb the touts.

Byline: CR

IT is good to see that some action at last seems likely to be taken over the scourge of unscrupulous ticket touts, who charge desperate fans rip-off prices as that is often the only way they can get to see their musical or sporting idol.

With so much action being taken over pirate CDs and DVDs, it is strange that so little has been done to target the huge amounts of cash generated by ticket touts, which is often used for similarly dubious ends.

One way of helping to put them out of business would be to stop the practice whereby large numbers of tickets are snapped up by corporate clients, sponsors, and ticketing agencies, who then sell them on at hugely inflated prices.
