Letter: Cost-counting insult.

Byline: R T JONES

SIR - K Baynton of Cardiff (Letters, December 2) asked the cost of bilingualism.

Of the 20 or so subjects that are taught in schools, to choose the Welsh language as a cost is an insult to humanity and shows the desire to keep the Welsh as second-class citizens in Wales - even when they speak English, their accent is not "acceptable" by the English broadcasters.

What if every other country counted the cost of bilingualism? Would they be brainwashed to think that they are a master race or even have a master religion as monoglots do?

How much has and does their ignorance cost?

R T JONES Penygroes, Gwynedd
