Letter: Christian values deserve respect.

Byline: KEITH MALLETT

SHOULDN'T the law regarding blasphemy be applied with greater rigidity in this socalled Christian country of ours?

Many of us are highly offended every time the Lord's name is taken in vain.

Why do writers, comedians and 'celebrities' use Jesus, the name above all names, as a cheap expletive?

There are plenty of alternative words or expressions that could be utilised to put across feelings.

For Christians, these foul-mouthed individuals are blaspheming.

The New Testament makes it quite clear that God the Father and God the Son are one.

How great it would be if the name of Jesus was given the respect it deserves.

Jesus, after all, is the Saviour of the world and we should be celebrating His coming.

Not only at Christmas but every day.
