Letter: Blunt truth about this ticket tactic; VOICE OF THE NORTH.
Byline: DAVID SHIELTHE James Blunt and Ents24 websites announced on Tuesday February 26 that he would be playing at the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena in October.
On Wednesday, fans were invited to apply for their tickets early on a secure Ticketmaster site, before tickets went on general sale on Friday. The fact that many of the general public would be Blunt fans too seemed to have escaped the promoters, but nevertheless like many other fans I proceeded to buy 12 tickets for the office.
I bought my 12 tickets and Ticketmaster charged me and every other fan, a premium of pounds 5.70 per ticket, making pounds 68.40 and then a further pounds 2 to email me my tickets. This puts a whole new angle on customer service.
Both the general public and fans need to join forces to stop this rip-off, and to bring Ticketmaster and the Arena to their senses.
