Letter: A quick word; SEASON TICKET PRICES.
Dear Editor, Both Aston Villa and Birmingham City clubs are to be congratulated for cutting the cost of seat prices for the coming season of Premiership football.
For too long traditional supporters, the life-blood of the game, have been priced out of matches with inflation-busting average hikes of six per cent over the last four seasons.
With the television revenue of pounds 2.7 billion, price rip offs at away games and constantly changing team strips, it's already expensive enough to support Premiership clubs awash with these side earners.
Still, pity all those Manchester United fans - mostly in the Home Counties - who face a 13 per cent increase at a time when local sides will be giving better value for money.
