Letter: A clip around the lug for Ant and Dec; Voice of the North.

Byline: BETTY BROWN

WELL, well it seems like Ant and Dec have turned into smart alecks or proper Charlies. They have overstepped the mark with the trite, smirky skit on the Northern Rock situation last Saturday night.

In their Saville Row suits, and slick, sick approach to a very unfortunate situation, have they forgotten their upbringing in Newcastle upon Tyne and that their career in television started on Byker Grove. Or have they chosen to forget?

Has fame and fortune affected them so much that they think they can ponce around a TV programme being so crass and in so much bad taste to the North-East, Newcastle and Northern Rock?

I think it's time some mothers gave them a clip around the lug lest they forget.
