Let's flag up our support for Giants!

HAVE you ever been to the DW Stadium to watch a Wigan match? Sat in the away end and looked towards the home end? Seen all the flags flying high above? What an awe-inspiring sight - and intimidating too.

Quite a number of our fans have had large flags made, with the Huddersfield Giants Supporters Association being one of them. After months of negotiating, ours now has a permanent place on match days - see if you can spot it!

This has resulted in others wanting their flags to be on display. Again, the stadium staff have been extremely helpful and have allocated blocks 9 & 10 in the Britannia Stand as the area for flags to be draped over seats.

Not quite as dramatic as the flags in the skies at the DW, but a tremendous start. Mind you, would you be willing to climb up there before and after every match just so that your flag could be seen?!

If you have a flag which you want to be seen, let us know and we will point you in the direction to get permission. Please note, though, that you must have a valid fire certificate before even thinking about taking it into the stadium.

Meanwhile, how would you fancy a day with the Sky team at a match of your choice? Well, we have been fortunate enough to arrange for this to happen to one such lucky person. Don't get over excited, you will have to pay for your fare to Perpignan!

We shall be selling raffle tickets for you to have a chance to enjoy this exclusive opportunity.

Second and third prizes will be Leroy Cudjoe's 2013 shirt and a pass into the post-match players' lounge.

Our next guest speaker will be the club's managing director, Richard Thewlis.

As well as being 'The Boss',' he is a lifelong supporter of the club. As usual, the meeting is open to one and all (although there is a nominal PS1 charge for non-members), so come along to Turnbridge WMC on Tuesday, May 6 and hear what he has to say - you might be able to ask him a question or two!

In the near future we shall have another ex-player and current 'boss' speaking to us. He was a hooker back in the days when this position meant something. His allegiances now lie elsewhere, Headingley in fact. Yes, Gary Hetherington will be back!
